One fine day, the bakers at the “Little Bites” were baking some soft and moist muffins. The streets of Brooklyn were booming with the aroma of freshly baked muffins and cookies coming from Entenmann’s bakery. Following the scent of chocolate chips and vanilla, I saw myself standing right next to an oven. The baker just placed the muffin trays in the heating oven and Oh my Lord! I was in love with the aroma of chocolate chip and blueberry. As I was adoring the sweet, pleasant, and tasty smell of these little muffins, suddenly I heard some whispering coming out of the oven. It made me so curious that I went closer to auditioning who on earth is chit-chatting in the oven and I witnessed two sweet muffins talking to each other.
Blueberry Muffin: Ugh! It's pretty hot in here, isn't it?
Chocolate chip Muffin: Oh good God! A talking Muffin!?
Blueberry Muffin: Yeah right! So you wanted to say that I am talking and you are emm..! Probably being lame. Haha!
Chocolate Chip Muffin: With due respect Sir, I never talked to any muffin as I am just 10 minutes old and you must be… ohh! Blueberry Muffins! I see that you are competing with me in the market.
Blueberry Muffin: Competition? But buddy aren't we from the same family? It's just you are my uncle’s son and our dads used to be good friends. They were even packed together in the “Little Bites' ' and they were honored to be a part of the Sweet Snacking Bite Size Snack Collection.
Chocolate Chip Muffins: So are we going together too? And you are right, Lad it's so hot here.
Behind their conversation, I wondered about the history of muffins as they were discovered in the 10th century by the Welsh and were called British-style muffins. I still remember there was a song “Here comes the Muffin Man '' which my grandmother used to sing for me. In the 18th century, Americans also entered the muffins world and baked different flavors of muffins and with time these delicious small muffins made their place in the tea time favorite sweet snacks. In the U.S, the states have adopted their official muffins like New York’s official is Apple Muffins, Minnesota’s official is the blueberry muffin and Brooklyn’s official is the Chocolate Chip Muffin.
I hit the nostalgia when in my childhood when my grandmother used to sing the Muffin’s Man song and used to tell me how healthy muffins are as it is made up of whole wheat flour and are loaded with fruits and healthy flavors like cocoa. And I got distracted as I heard a “screaming with joy” kind of noise and the blueberry muffin uttered,
Blueberry Muffin: Aahh! Come here my brother of centuries, my partner till love and death, my…
Chocolate chip Muffins: Okay okay stop, you are cringing.
Blueberry Muffins: Yeah right, but can I hug you because I am already baked and I feel so fresh and warm and so are you.
Chocolate chip Muffins: Sure let's have a hug of brotherhood that our relationship in the Little Bites remains the same and Sweet Snacking never stops putting us together and ohhhh…
And I witnessed the trays of Muffins coming out of the oven and I was so over-sentimental to see both of the muffins joined together as they hugged before coming out of the oven. It gave me a feel of Muffin’s history which is coming from the centuries and still repeating now.
